About Us

THE GROUP

We are a friendly group of volunteers based in and around Lindfield, West Sussex, that seeks to maintain and enhance the biodiversity of the Eastern Road Nature Reserve, and to promote responsible community engagement with the site. We work in positive partnership with other local and regional wildlife groups, with government agencies, and with Mid Sussex District Council. Our activities include everything from litter-picking to surveying, mulching paths, building wildlife habitats, fundraising for major projects, and holding educational events.

THE COMMITTEE

The group is governed by a committee of six people: Alexandra Le Seelleur (Chairperson), Julie Blackstock (Secretary), Catherine Forrester (Treasurer), Jennifer Baker (Conservation Lead), Penny Canepa-Anson (Fundraising Lead), and Attila Erdei (Data & Safeguarding Lead). Our Annual General Meeting takes place between December and March, where we welcome all members to join us and find out about the group's achievements to date, current challenges, and future ambitions. It's also a great opportunity for members to ask questions and share ideas. Dates for the AGM will be announced on this website, our social media, and in local magazines.

There are a wide range of ways to get involved, from being a committee member, to undertaking conservation tasks on-site, helping out with our social media, or providing support at events - every bit of help really does make a difference! Onsite volunteers can be any age, we just ask anyone under 18 to be accompanied by a responsible adult. Follow us on social media or sign up to our newsletter to find out any volunteering opportunities coming up soon.
